Hargreaves, a trained mining engineer, has been involved in the
gemstone industry at all levels from exploration to distribution for
over 25 years. He regularly executes competent persons reports and
advises on start-ups, amalgamations, takeovers and refinancing. On
application a full CV is available, plus details of previous work
and a schedule of rates.
Assignments have included those for Rio Tinto Plc, the Government of Ireland, Pangea Diamonds, the UNITA party, Angola, New African Mining, Kopane Diamonds, True North Gems, evaluation of river alluvials, Kasai, DRC, Kimor Diamonds the Gem-Venus emerald deposit, South Africa, evaluation of deposits for Zambezi Emeralds Ltd, Zambia, the Black Angel Mine Greenland, Greenland Gems APS, Cape Diamonds.
He is keynote speaker at Mining Journal’s annual ‘Diamond Day’ and the author of a number of authoritative publications. These include: The World Index of Strategic Minerals and The World Index of Resources and Population.
